Proposed Amendment to Shetlands HOA Declaration
Posted on Mar 2nd, 2025
Hello Neighbors,
As a reminder the voting for HOA Board Members and the proposed amendment is now open. Please utilize the link below to access it.
The HOA Board is aware of the unsolicited and inaccurate document delivered to homeowners' front doors on Saturday, March 1st. As a reminder, we are a non-soliciting neighborhood. We have received multiple complaints about this distribution.
Please note: Any information from the HOA Board will always be delivered via secure methods: USPS, email, and posted on our website.
The Board offered two informational meeting sessions where we heard your feedback and as a result, made several revisions and simplified the proposed amendment.
The contents of the unsolicited and inaccurate document passed door to door on March 1st, while still inaccurate, seemed to refer to the original proposed amendment before any revisions were made. Please take time to review the final amendment that is proposed for voting.
If your household does not vote, it will be automatically counted as a “No” vote. We encourage all homeowners to vote on this amendment.
The Board recommends a “Yes” vote on this proposed amendment.
The proposed amendment intends to further emphasize the current language around short-term rentals. The Board has received several complaints about neighborhood safety, parking issues, noise disturbances, and law enforcement being called due to short-term rentals in the neighborhood.
To see just how this impacts surrounding neighbors, please see one of the complaints received:
Thank you for your participation and feedback.
We look forward to seeing you all at our virtual Annual Meeting on March 19th at 6:00 PM via Zoom.
Sincerely,
The Shetlands Homeowners Association Board of Directors
